Hoda Shaarawi a pioneering feminist who organized the largest women’s anti-British demonstration in 1919 and removed the faceVeil (burqu’) in
1923 as a bold symbol of women’s liberation upon her arrival from a #women’srights conference in Rome. She co-founded the first Feminist’ Union in the Arab world in 1923.
