Brush Care
May 12, 2013Alright ladies, this is something almost all of us forget to do – taking good care of our makeup brushes to get rid of bacteria, oils, debris and dead skin cells. Specialists say we need to clean our makeup brushes on a weekly basis or at least once every two weeks, so if you haven’t done that recently, go ahead and get your kit ready for a much needed bath.
You need:
– Shampoo (any shampoo you use)
– Two clean hand towels or paper towels
Follow these steps:
1. Turn your faucet on cold or luke warm water (not hot)
2. Wet each brush on its own with the hairs pointing downwards
3. Add on or two drops of shampoo (depending on the size of the brush)
4. Massage the shampoo onto the brush and rub it onto your palm as your slightly rinse it for one to two minutes
5. Without pulling out the bristles, rinse the brush thoroughly until the water runs clear. Make sure all shampoo is gone so you wouldn’t leave behind any residue
6. Brush each off on one of the towels then place them on the other towel to dry off completely overnight
