The Azza Fahmy for Matthew Williamson Saga
September 24, 2013 | Nadine El SayedWe are always on the look out for so much as a tiny little ring Azza Fahmy launches, so, of course, when we heard about her collaboration with internationally renowned British designer Matthew Williamson we were psyched, to put it mildly: And for good reason too.
The collection debuted at the Matthew Willimason’s Spring/Summer 2014 show at the London Fashion Week last week. The collaboration wreaks of culture, glamour, creativity, craftsmanship and lots, lots of style.
“Matthew is a prestigious designer with a refreshing artistic and cultural approach, in which we share many similarities and we are delighted to be working with him,” says Fahmy who collaborated with her daughter and designer, Amina Ghali, for the collection.
“It has been a really interesting process collaborating with Azza Fahmy and adding some of my design DNA in this collection of fine jewelry,” says Williamson.
19TwentyThree was invited to preview the Azza Fahmy for Matthew Williamson collection, to be launched for pre-orders in October and in stores in England and Egypt in November, and we were rather blown away. Ten pieces inspired by botanical prints, architectural forms and textures from Egypt and Persia, the collection will be available in sterling silver, gold and gold on silver.
This chic collection reflects international influences and captures our mutual appreciation of nature. It features colourful semi-precious stones and quirky styling with a fresh attitude that compliments Matthews collection, says Fahmy.
Intricate craftsmanship, as always, trendy designs, fresh takes on Egyptian culture and a hint of gypsy chic makes this collection a favorite of ours. And because we like to share the love, here is a sneak peak of our favorite pieces from the collection.
