Lebanese documentary Marcedes by Hady Zaccak is showing tonight at 8:30pm at Darb1718. The movie is a biography of the Mercedes Ponton 180 model, produced between 1953 and 1962, and became a pop icon of pre-war Lebanon. Through depicting the car’s biography, the movie highlights the transformation of the Lebanese life in that era. It is the history of Lebanon told through a cultural symbol f the past decades.
