The Ultimate Guide to Kids Fitness in Cairo

Because you all told found our Ultimate Guide to the New Fitness Fads in Cairo to be quite handy, we decided to launch The Ultimate Guide to Kids Fitness in Cairo to make your life a little easier.

If you have a kid and need them to get moving for fun, better health or developing their fitness but don’t want to go with the traditional sports, then this list is for you.

We compiled a list of the best fitness activities for your kids to pick from along with their schedules and just who it’s aimed for and what to expect from it. 

Athletics for Life

What is Athelitics for life?

A program designed to bring out the athlete in everyone; regardless of age, gender or ability and to train each one individually within the group to make the best version of themselves.

They offer two types of training: Bootcamp Fitness and Strength and Power or a combination of both.

The Bootcamp establishes athletic coordination, balance and relative strength and the introduction of essential muscular movement patterns.

The Strength and Power class aims at building stronger muscles, bones, ligaments and tendons to increase metabolism and reduce fat.

  • Utilizes high intensity interval training to improve cardio

Why Athletics for Life?

Our young athletes transfer skills we teach them to their respective sport and we are proud to see a number of our young athletes at the very top of their game.

At Athletics for Life we want to make exercise healthy, fun and safe and find the key for your children to ensure that they will be athletic for life.

Schedule:

  • Strength and Power Sessions: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at 6:00pm
  • Bootcamp Sessions: Saturday at 10am Family Session (children and parents). Sunday at 7:00pm and 8:00pm, Monday at 8:00pm, Tuesday at 7:00pm and 8:00pm, Wednesday at 8:00pm.

Address: Arabella Country Club.

Price: Prices range from LE50 to LE80 per session depending on the number of classes you buy.

What is Palestra Junior Fitness Class?

A combination of Jazzercise and trampoline varieties an routines for kids for a fun workout. It is a fun workout with music mixes and high-energy dance moves and fitness games created specifically for kids.

Who is it for?

Ages 6 to 12 years old.

Why Palestra Junior class?

Fun fitness that builds healthy muscles, strengthens the core and builds balance and coordination all to the beats of updated music while learning new moves in a class specifically tailored to children.

Schedule:

Tuesdays at 5:00pm. New classes will be added soon.

Price: LE100 per class.

What is Kidfit?

It is all about fitness and fun for children. The main focus is to enhance the children’s athletic ability and to build in them a joyful attachment to sports.

Highlights:

Who is it for?

Ages 5 to 15 years

Why Kidfit Egypt?

The main benefits are to fight and prevent child obesity as well as develop a strong base for other sports and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

 

It also gives children an opportunity to compete against themselves. KidFit is specially designed for kids and it takes into consideration each child’s physical, social and psychological needs.

 

Schedule:

Sundays and Tuesdays at 5:00pm

 

Price: LE70 per session or LE400 monthly (includes 8 sessions). The first session for any newcomer is free

FitSquad

What is Fit squad?

At Fit Squad combines a variety of exercises, varying from gymnastics to bodyweight workouts.

 

Highlights:

  • Builds strength
  • Builds coordination
  • Improves confidence
  • Lays the groundwork for a healthy lifestyle

Who is it for?

Ages 8 to 13.

Why FitSquad?

We implement a well-researched curriculum for kids that includes a variety of exercises that are both beneficial and fun.

 

Schedule:

  • Saturday: 8:00pm (outdoors)
  • Monday: 6:00pm (outdoors)
  • Wednesday: 7:00pm (indoors)

Price: LE400 monthly for 12 sessions

Zumba

What is Zumba?

It’s a fun dance party for kids that works on the child’s fitness, coordination and balance.

Highlights:

  • Enhances coordination

 

Who is it for?

Ages 4 to 12.

 

Why Zumba?

Because it’s tons of fun with good music and a lot of dance routines to teach their friends at school.

 

Zumba classes will resume in April at Flow (Heliopolis), Slim and Shape (Maadi), My Gym (Heliopolis) and Glee Zone (New Cairo).

Kick Boxing:

Islam Mohamed Nagib, professional kickboxing player at the Egyptian national team player and a kickboxing instructor in Slimnastics Studio.

What is kickboxing?

It is a group of stand-up, martial arts sports based on kicking and punching.

  • Improves general fitness
  • Contact sport
  • Learn to find focus and stillness
  • Learn to take hits
  • Promotes confidence and self-respect
  • Connect mind and body
  • Learn conflict resolution

Who is it for?

Ages 4 and above.

Who is it not for?

A professional trainer well-equippe to train kids can handle children aged 4 and above.

Why Kickboxing?

Kids kickboxing is a fun activity and a perfect way to challenge your child physically while still having fun in a social atmosphere. The classes are a blast and combat games promote fitness, confidence, responsibility and commitment.

Schedule:

  • Sunday and Tuesday: 4.30pm for ages 4 and 5 and 5:30pm for ages 6 and above.

Price: LE450 monthly for 8 hours worth
