In collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden, Darb 1718 Contemporary Art and Culture Center is hosting “Fashion Reincarnated: Recycling Identities & Memories,” an art exhibition curated by Karina Shalaby. Today, Monday April 29, marks the opening of the one-month long exhibition.

Using a fusion of different materials, the designers and artists express their ideas of fashion design through the process of recycling. Each piece is meant to reflect its history, stories and memories attached to it, as well as the the character of its designer, wearer or even the person who might have tore it apart. Working with the concept of reincarnation, the artists aim to evoke their own means of storytelling.
