Molten Cake Recipe
April 16, 2013If you grew up craving that Chili’s infamous Molten Chocolate Cake and then came to know that just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Crave goes on introducing an even more luscious version, this recipe is right for you. Impress your guests with individually served molten chocolate cakes and before you freak out, it isn’t as complicated as it looks, the whole trick is timing the baking just right.
Ingredients:
– 4 semi-sweet squares baking chocolate chopped (we recommend Swifax)
– 1/2 cup butter
– 1/4 cup heavy cream
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1/4 cup flour
– 1/4 cup sugar
– 2 large egg yolks
– 2 large eggs
Instructions:
– Grase 8 cups custard cups and lightly flour them
– Preheat oven to 200 Celsius
– Combine chocolate, butter and cream over low heat and stir until chocolate melts completely
– Remove from heat and add vanilla and flour
– In separate bowl beat eggs, yolks and sugar on high speed until the mixture thickens and turns into a lemon color (about 10 minutes)
– Fold egg mixture one third at a time into chocolate mixture
– Pour into prepared cups
– Bake for 8-9 minutes and make sure you do not over or under cook
– Serve with vanilla ice cream
